Her life story was adapted into a television film by HBO released in 2010 in titled Temple Grandin (2010), starring Claire Danes as Temple Grandin, Julia Ormond as Eustacia Culter (Grandin’s mother), Catherine O’ Hara as Aunt Ann, and David Strathairn as Dr. Grandin even built a squeezing machine herself, as a result to help her stay calm and gentle, because she has suffered panic attacks and didn’t like to be touched by people, due to her autism. Grandin’s discovery for her love of cattle came from visiting her aunt’s ranch in Arizona during the summer, when she spotted one of the cows going into the squeezing machine to be vaccinated, which is keeps a cow nice and calm. She was born in 1947, and at the age of two, she was showing signs of autism, and start speaking at four. She is also a lecturer and advocate of the autism community, has written books on autism and animal science and behavior. Temple Grandin is a professor on animal science at Colorado State University, who works on designing on cattle livestock-handling industry.
